How to Fit SuperWrappz BMW Badge Overlays — Step-by-Step
SuperWrappz badge overlays are designed for tool-free installation in under 15 minutes. This guide covers the full process for both V1 (pre-2017) and V2 (2017+) badge overlays.
Before you start: Check the Fitment Guide → to confirm you've ordered the right version for your model.
What You'll Need
- Your SuperWrappz badge overlay pack
- IPA (isopropyl alcohol) wipe — 70%+ (any car detailing supplier or Amazon)
- A lint-free cloth or microfibre towel
- Optional: low-tack masking tape for alignment
Do NOT use: nail varnish remover, white spirit, or harsh solvents — these can damage the badge finish.
Step 1 — Clean the Badge Surface
Wipe the face of the BMW roundel badge thoroughly with an IPA wipe. Remove all wax, polish residue, dust, and finger grease. Allow 2–3 minutes for the IPA to fully evaporate before applying the overlay.
Temperature: Apply at 10°C–30°C. Avoid fitting in direct sunlight on a hot panel. In cold weather, warm the badge gently with a hair dryer for 30 seconds before application.
Step 2 — Dry-Fit the Overlay (No Peel Yet)
Before peeling the backing, hold the overlay over the badge and check alignment. The dividing lines of the overlay should sit over the raised dividing lines of the badge.
Step 3 — Peel and Apply
Peel the backing paper from the overlay starting from one corner — avoid touching the adhesive side with your fingers. Bring the overlay down to the badge from above, aligning the dividing lines with the badge seams. Press the centre of the overlay down first, then work outward to the edges.
Step 4 — Firm Application
Using your thumb or a soft squeegee, press firmly from the centre outward over the entire overlay surface. Run your thumbnail along any edges where the overlay meets the badge seam to fully seat the adhesive.
Step 5 — Final Inspection
Inspect under good lighting at a 45-degree angle. Look for air bubbles (press firmly toward nearest edge to remove), edge lift (press down and hold 10 seconds), and alignment.
Wait 48 hours before running through a car wash or using a jet washer on the badge.
Removal
Warm the overlay with a hair dryer on low heat for 30 seconds, then peel slowly from a corner. The adhesive releases cleanly — no residue will remain on the badge.
Frequently Asked Questions
How long does installation take?
10–15 minutes for a 4-piece full badge kit. First-timers may take 20–25 minutes.

If near an edge, press firmly toward the edge to move the air out. If central, lift from the nearest edge, re-clean with IPA, allow to dry, and re-apply.
Do I need to remove the badge from the car?
No. SuperWrappz overlays fit directly over the badge while it's on the car. No badge removal required.
How do I remove the overlay?
Warm with a hair dryer (low heat, 30 seconds), peel slowly from a corner. Residue-free removal. Original badge will be undamaged.
