Badge SuperWrappz — how to fit
- Clean your badge with an alcohol solution and let it dry.
- Peel the vinyl from the backing and place it on the badge. Align the quadrants at the 90° cross. PRO TIP: tweezers make placing the vinyls easier.
- Once aligned, warm the vinyl with a hair dryer or heat gun — this won't damage the badge; the heat makes it flexible so it moulds to the curve.
- Press the warm vinyl and its edges with your fingers.
- The adhesive reaches full strength after 24–48 hrs — keep pressing the edges down during that time.
- Any wrinkles from transit? Warm with a hair dryer and press — they disappear.
V-Braces / Crash Bars SuperWrappz — how to fit
1. This kit fits all BMWs that have V-Bars. Most models don't need the bumper off — you remove the kidney grilles to reach the braces. Take out the 5× Torx screws under the hood seal, gently lift the top of the bumper, press the grille clips and push forward to release. Once the first grille is out you can reach the second through the gap.
2. Clean the V-Braces with an alcohol solution.
3. Lay the vinyl over the brace without removing the backing and check the wrap. If it's longer than needed, trim with scissors.
4. When the shape is right, remove the backing.
5. Start with the first 2cm under the brace and wrap bottom to top. Take your time — work out bubbles with heat and finger/squeegee pressure. The vinyl can be repositioned a few times; just don't stretch it too hard.
If the V-Brace vinyl is shorter than the brace: the grille covers about 20cm of the V-Bars, so as long as it's centred it won't show — or we can send 60cm kits to cut down.
Frequently asked questions
Does it withstand washing? Can I wash my car normally?
Yes. Once cured (24–48 hrs) the vinyl is fully weatherproof. Hand washes, automatic car washes and rain are all fine. Just avoid holding a pressure washer right up against the badge edges.
Will they fly off when driving?
No. It's premium automotive cast vinyl with a strong adhesive, bonded with heat. Tens of thousands fitted — they stay put at motorway speeds once cured.
Are they hard to fit? Do I need a professional?
Not at all. It's a peel, place, heat and press job — most people do a full badge set in 15–20 minutes with just a hair dryer. Follow the steps and video above.
Will they damage my badge or paint?
No. The overlay sits on top of the badge and removes cleanly with gentle heat, leaving no residue.
How long do they last?
Premium cast vinyl lasts years outdoors. Remove or refresh whenever you fancy a new look.
What about the V-Braces / Crash Bars kits?
Same vinyl, wrapped around the brace — see the V-Braces steps above.
Will removing my grilles to fit the V-Braces invalidate my insurance?
Our overlays and wraps are cosmetic, non-structural and reversible — they don't alter how the car performs. Temporarily removing the kidney grilles to access the V-braces is a routine, reversible job and refits exactly as before. As with any cosmetic accessory, if you're ever unsure it's worth a quick check with your insurer. (This is general information, not legal or insurance advice.)
