You need an alcohol wipe and a clean cloth. A hair dryer is optional and helps in cold weather.
Clean, align, press. The original badge stays on the car throughout.

Badge overlays — five steps

1. Clean. Wipe the badge with an alcohol solution and let it dry fully. Adhesive bonds to vinyl, not to road film.
2. Peel. Lift each quadrant off its backing — tweezers make the small pieces easier to place.
3. Align. Set the quadrants against the 90° cross of the badge. Take your time here; alignment is the whole job.
4. Press. Press from the centre outward and seal the edges with your fingers. In cold conditions, warming the vinyl gently with a hair dryer first makes it more flexible over the badge's curve — in a warm garage you will not usually need it.
5. Done. Give the adhesive 24–48 hours before washing — press the edges down again whenever you walk past the car.

Sizing comes before fitting

The overlay is cut to the quadrant — measured from the badge centre outward to the edge of the coloured field, not counting the silver divider lines. If you have not checked yours, do that before you peel anything: Fitment Guide →

Good to know

• Temperature. Fit somewhere moderate — a garage or a mild day. Cold vinyl is stubborn; if it is near freezing, warm both the badge and the vinyl first.
• Curing and washing. Give the adhesive 24–48 hours, then wash the car as you normally would — just avoid holding a pressure washer right up against the badge edges.
• Wrinkles from transit? Warm gently with a hair dryer and press.
• Storage. Fitting later? Keep kits flat, dry and out of direct sunlight until you need them.
• Removal. Changing finish or selling the car? Warm the overlay with a hair dryer and peel slowly from a corner — it is designed to be removed cleanly.

V-Braces / Crash Bars

Same vinyl, different technique — wrapped around the brace rather than pressed onto a badge.

1. Most models do not need the bumper off — remove the kidney grilles to reach the braces. Take out the 5× Torx screws under the hood seal, gently lift the top of the bumper, press the grille clips and push forward to release. Once the first grille is out you can reach the second through the gap.
2. Clean the V-braces with an alcohol solution.
3. Lay the vinyl over the brace without removing the backing and check the length. If it is longer than needed, trim with scissors.
4. When the shape is right, remove the backing.
5. Start with the first 2cm under the brace and wrap bottom to top. Work out bubbles with gentle warmth and finger or squeegee pressure — the vinyl can be repositioned a few times, just do not overstretch it.

If the V-brace vinyl is shorter than the brace: the grille covers about 20cm of the V-bars, so a centred wrap will not show — or contact us about 60cm kits to cut down.

Note: our overlays and wraps are cosmetic, non-structural and reversible — they do not alter how the car performs. Temporarily removing the kidney grilles to access the V-braces is a routine, reversible job and refits exactly as before.
