Why SuperWrappz
The short version
One UK garage. Trading since 17 May 2011. Fifteen years of cutting vinyl for one marque — which is either dedication or stubbornness, depending on which of us you ask.
We didn't start this because badge overlays were trending. In 2011 there was no trend to copy. There was a garage, a cutting plotter, and a strongly held opinion about how a roundel should look. Everything since — 53,000+ kits sold, 10,565 eBay feedbacks — came from taking that opinion more seriously than was strictly reasonable.
The material
We cut from premium automotive-grade cast vinyl, bought from established film manufacturers — the kind of material that can run to £200 a metre on our invoice before a single badge has been cut from it. The kit price doesn't move when the material price does. That's a margin decision we keep making on purpose, because the alternative is cutting from film we wouldn't put on our own cars.
The details you can't see in a product photo
- Air-release adhesive channels. The film beds down without trapping bubbles, which matters most in the ninety seconds after you stop being careful.
- Adhesive made for exterior automotive use. It holds on a car that lives outside in Britain — and because the kit is an overlay, not a replacement badge, it lifts back off when you want the standard look.
- Finishes picked under real light. Every colourway gets cut and put on an actual badge before it gets listed. If it only looks good in a supplier catalogue, it doesn't go on the site.
- Cut per chassis. Measured from the badge housing of the chassis it's sold for — pre-2017 cars run the V1 kit (PATINA & YOUNGTIMER), 2017-on run the V2 kit (G-SPEC on the newest generation). Physically tested, not guessed from a spec sheet.
Built by people, not a spreadsheet
SuperWrappz is a founder and a small team who have been doing precision vinyl work since 2011. Fifteen years on one job teaches you things a product brief can't: which finishes chalk, which adhesives give up in a British winter, and exactly how flat a badge overlay has to sit before nobody can tell it's aftermarket. The person who answers your email works in the same building as the plotter that cut your kit. That's the whole org chart.
The passion bit (we'll keep it short)
Passion is the most over-used word in e-commerce, so here's what ours looks like in practice: fifteen years on one marque. Test cuts before any colour is listed. Material bought on quality, not on price-per-metre. A product range that exists because we wanted it to exist — not because a trend report told us to want it.
We're not going to tell you what anyone else's vinyl is like. We'll just tell you exactly what ours is, and let the badge do the arguing.
The obligatory line
Compatible with BMW — Not Genuine BMW Parts. Aftermarket accessory — not manufactured, endorsed, or affiliated with BMW AG. We say it on every product page, and we're saying it here, on the page about why we exist. Consistency is sort of our whole thing.
